Christine Kaufmann was born in Nazi-annexed Austria in 1945 and portrayed a wide range of roles, including Aunt Polly in a production of Tom Sawyer. The two movies I recall most were The Last Days of Pompeii (1959) where she starred with Steve Reeves (yum!) and Taras Bulba (1962) where her co-star was Tony Curtis, whom she married. The directors Fassbinder and Dietl used her a lot, too, and she was known as "the most beautiful grandmother in Germany." She started a cosmetics line and wrote books about health and beauty, a very busy lady.

They recently did a retrospective of their packaging from the (l-r) current, 50s, 60s, and 70s. I ate so many of these in 1984-85 while overseas (and on a few trips since). The Internet has brought them back into my life.
PRO TIP: Do not get Bahlsen's version, "Hit". They are not a hit.

That is my favorite chocolate. Mothers have requirements. Doll mothers too. Butter Ad (West Germany)

A bit of bread for breakfast with good butter, that is good.
For the good housewife it is common sense to care properly for her family with clever rationing. She knows her responsibility. Thus butter comes into the house before anything else - exceptionally fresh, delicious butter. That's really the best way to care for the family.
*as a side note, those kids' backpacks are rigid and god help you if you get on a bus with 25 of them. Massive internal organ damage.
