Budd was the other passenger car builder and known for their fluted stainless steel trains and domes. Their ads were simple, clean, and artistic.

the abstract terminal building, the row of shadowy passengers boarding, the implied red carpet, the wonderful obsession with jet propulsion, the font for "jet" - this is one of my favorite ads

This absolutely gorgeous ad is actually just about a magical belt that prevents seasicknessSee him shaking his tiny fist defiantly at the sea, as he struggles not to turn as green as the sky?  But hey, it won a gold medal at the Torino 1898 Exposition and he's definitely my kind of hunky.

The artist is Adolfo Hohenstein (1854-1928), considered the "father of Italian poster art".  Every one of his poster ads should be shared here, but there are too many.

I picked this out last month for the engine, not for the Belgian airline.  I love the angles (none of which make sense).

The most beautiful day or half-day excursions to the spa town of Baden with the electric express train Vienna (Opera) - Baden.

The most comfortable and fastest trip in 58 minutes. Dining car in every train.  Departure ...

If you look closely, you can see the current spa (top) matches the one in the poster.

Another poster for Baden by the same artist, Willy Stieborsky:

I like the wood block/arts and crafts look of this ad. Ford City became part of Windsor, Ontario in 1935. It is just east of the Walkerville neighbourhood (Where Hiram Walker built his distillery and model community). Ford Canada had a large factory along the Detroit River here, hence the name of the community, Ford City.
