write_light's Convair ad reminded me of their wonderful, but complete commercial flop, the Convair 880. Ii was at the time, the fastest commercial Airliner. It was beautiful.

This is the first full-color campaign that Lustre-Creme ran in LIFE. They also ran a large series featuring movie stars in the 1950s, which I'll post once I have it assembled. If you want to test out the veracity of these ads, it turns out you can buy Lustre-Creme at The Vermont Country Store.

Since i'll be in bed when 1993 is welcomed into vintage ads (which uh, yeah, it's already 2013 in parts of the world already!!!) i'm creating the tag now and on the honor system, as soon as it's 2013 where you are, you can start posting 1993 ads!! no, no, i won't check on that!!!

Having stayed there, I can say this:

1. The day spa is small but very enjoyable.
2. The lobby is extremely disorienting (four sloping walls //o\\).
3. The slant-wise elevators are only for the lucky few. :(
