This is the first full-color campaign that Lustre-Creme ran in LIFE. They also ran a large series featuring movie stars in the 1950s, which I'll post once I have it assembled. Date: 2013-01-01 02:08 pm (UTC)I have to admit, I didn't know when showers started becoming more popular as a bathing method, so I consulted Wikipedia, and they say ...the shower remained less popular than the bath in industrialised countries until the second half of the 20th century (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shower#History). But it still seems weird to me to wash one's hair over the sink and not just take care of it when you're in the bath.
