"Dear Future Pop Star," the note from Ed Sullivan said. "If you are reading this, I am dead and only you have the map to my treasure. It's hidden in a secret location, concealed in a Chesterfield box. Watch out for my heavily perfumed mistress who will surely try to steal the box from you. To find the box, you'll need this letter and some Czechoslovakian "outdoor flavor" sausages to feed to the creature.

Because guarding the Chesterfield box is something truly horrible - a giant, bloodthirsty woman in pearls and a little black dress. Oh, and a medieval helmet thingy. You can't miss her.

But the giant woman is not invincible. In addition to outdoor flavor sausages, she has a weakness for . . .

Kaiser Aluminum, 1960s

Each model played off a Hawaiian name - menehune, the local fairy race of the islands, waimea, a major surfing location on Oahu's north shore, and pele, the volcano goddess of Hawaiian mythology.

via svammelsurium:
  • Henry J. Kaiser was the founder of the first of Kaiser Shipyard which built ships for the U.S. Navy. After the war he founded the company Kaiser Steel, Kaiser Motors, and Kaiser Aluminum.  Kaiser-Frazer Corp. / Kaiser Motors cars are well known despite the short life they had, but one of his other companies, Kaiser Aluminum announced in the fifties a series of prospectus in all its cars for possible production, all-aluminum, of course. They were never past this stage.
Sadly, just prototypes.  All three images 1600x1030 each.

All giggles about the "Want a Boy?" text aside, this is a picture of an actual telegram from Laura Ingalls Wilder, and it was from a book called "Laura's Album" compiled by William Anderson. It is done scrapbook-style, as you can probably tell by the superimposed illustration over the picture of the telegram.

I've always loved Laura Ingalls Wilder and all the Little House stories, and I thought this was an interesting find. Enjoy! :)
