My mother worked in a department store in a mall, so Christmas was always special and perhaps a little too materialistic, hehehe! Here are three four ads from Canadian stores that no longer exist.

There's a few hours left in the day where I live! You know, it's been over 20 years since Wal-Mart bought out Woolco and I still miss the place. I have dreams about it now and then. My brother and I used to buy packages of cancelled stamps for $1.50, cheap toys and the one near where we lived had a restaurant called Strawberry Street.

There were S&H Green Stamps, of course, and I remember there was a competing brand called Gold Bond that weren't as popular, but I don't remember these.

What happens is you spend a fortune on paint jobs and new letterhead and your airline still goes under.

We could probably do a whole weekend event devoted just to defunct airlines! Sooooo many have come and gone.

I flew BCal once and I thought the flight attendants were rude. Nice uniforms, though. British Airways flight attendants were friendlier, but I don't know if that's still the case now. It's been awhile.

The Admiral brand is still around, sort of, but they don't make home entertainment products anymore.

Look at all the countries involved in manufacturing! I think that was fairly unusual back then.

This was obviously before ads were required to say "simulated image" or something like that. Those little TVs never had pictures as clear and sharp as the second one!

The VO sounds familiar. Any idea who it might be?

Added "out of business" tag. The Chrysler corporation is still around, but the Plymouth brand was retired in 2001.
