"And why don't your mamma run a damn comb through your hair, cracker bitch?"
Okay, so here's the thing. You use the word 'cracker' in describing another human being, you immediately lose any rights to call anyone else prejudiced. 'Bitch' is ugly, and shows you have a mean and small spirit, but it is not prejudiced. Got it, now? Good.
I don't think they are prejudiced. Their comment was one that would cause a reaction though and I understand it is hard not to respond! Please remember if you have any issues, such as this, you may contact me to handle it!

I think soap girl is going to be needing soap very soon! Hope it washes blood away.
The more I look at this ad, the more I wonder if maybe the artist is showing a slight bit of sensitivity by showing the white child as being slovenly in her own right. Maybe the artist was told what the client wanted and provided that, but also included some touches to suggest that soap girl has no right making comments about anyone else's appearance. The black child isn't really dirty. Her skin is clean and her clothes may be stained from age and hard use and are not necessarily dirty. If they aren't clean, it's probably from having to work in the fields as African American children often did even at that age. Either way, she definitely looks more pissed than shamed.
Or, I'm reading too much into the ad as I often do.
but it also reminds me of that scene in "robin hood, prince of thieves" where the little girl asks morgan freeman "did god paint you?" and was answered that yes, allah adores wonderous variety (or somesuch, tis been a while since i watched that movie!)
so...what of a child who had never SEEN a person of a different skin color than their own? its all ignorance till you're taught. (but the ad executives that conjured up the idea knew damn well better!)
