our friends on the east coast are still struggling and now they've got snow to deal with on top of the hardships they were dealt last week....we're going to delay this weekend's theme to a weekend in december.....it was gonna be smoking ads this weekend....we'll do it in december....

we will still have icon day on the 15th....

but for this weekend, we've done this one before, so how about starting today we do celebrities in ads?? any decade....

and since i'm listening to duran duran right now, i just found this commercial with simon (personally john was always my favorite, then roger, then nick, then simon and never andy)....i need to get the audio version of john's just released autobiography cuz it's him reading it! ::swoon:: that accent! :)

In honor of Mustard Day (which I guess I missed). Sorry, this isn't "fluffy" and I don't know how well men will remember it, but maybe they will sympathize with the phallic representation stuck with a fork.

This is authentic Hawaiian cuisine, right?

More hot dog ideas plus something to wash it all down.

coca cola with hot dogs may 1960

Although I think the Coca-Cola clock is a ripoff of Dr Pepper, at least it's not at 10, 2, or 4 so I don't have a time conflict with my soda consumption.

If your man didn't remember the mustard kidneys you lovingly served him, he'll be sure to remember when you made a perfectly good veal steak taste like Fritos and served him something you called a "brownie" made with baked potatoes and covered with cheese sauce! How in the hell is that a brownie?

Actually, the "brownie" recipe sounds kind of good, but in Normal Land, they call it twice-baked potatoes.

There isn't a date on it, but apparently ads for this cigar brand were popular during the '70s and '80s. This particular one never aired. (Before you say anything, yes, I know Daleks have been able to fly over stairs for some time now.)
