misstiaLAST CALL!!! vote for what you want our opening sentence for story #1 to start with!! vote here!!! i'll post the winner tonight with our story rules and then tomorrow morning i'll post the opening sentence and ad to get the story going....
re: rules....what do you think??? i was thinking, aside from having story in the subject, and story 1 in the tags, that people cannot post twice in a row---does that sound good? any other rule ideas???

Story opening line, rules, etc.....
May. 30th, 2012 09:37 pmmisstiaTOMORROW (Thursday May 31st) will be our first 'ad story' day....this isn't a contest, it's just something fun to do....all day tomorrow, then i'll post before i go to bed that story time is over.....then next Friday June 8 will be our 2nd story day, then the following Saturday, etc.....
now we're gonna have to figure out how this goes as we go along (how's THAT for leadership? HAH!)....but here's some ground rules....if/when we encounter some bumps, we shall figure out a solution and adjust accordingly....
1. you absolutely MUST put 'story' in the subject line.....i have created a 'story 1' tag also, but i will be manning (or should i say womanning?) the tagging boat, so don't so much about tagging, but you MUST put 'story' in the subject line....
2. copy the previous line into your post before your completion of the line...
3. you cannot post consecutively in the story....you can post again after someone else posts, but if someone is posting like every other post (i don't see that happening but if it does, then you might need to take a break)....
4. print or video ads will work fine....
5. IF someone posts simultaneously as you, whoever's post posts first can remain....the 2nd poster must remove their post....so please, after you post---check the page to ensure no one else posted at the same time as you! if you see that, please delete your post (if your post was 2nd)....if you don't look and i'm not (or one of the other mods aren't around) please ignore the 2nd ad with the same sentence and follow the 1st one until the 2nd one is deleted....
6. i will start the story tomorrow with the ad & sentence below on day 1, when i post the start for day 2 i'll just link to where the story last left off....
7. story time ends when i post 'story time is over today'....
8. of course regular ads can be posted tomorrow!

so here's an example.....tomorrow morning i AM posting this, so this is a 'real' part of the example....

now, the next person who wants to contribute to the story, will put story in the subject line and then:
Once upon a time there were two mythical men named Hall & Oates with a magic Fiero and....they had beautiful glossy hair.
[show hair ad, perhaps a farrah fawcett ad, i'm winging this here....]
The Fiero converted into a plane and flew them to...
that would be post #2 for the story....
next person who wants to play, put story in subject line, then put 'The Fiero converted into a plane and flew them to...Omaha, Nebraska.
[insert ad for omaha, nebraska]
They had urgent business there to....
end of post #3....
next person, story in subject line; then put 'They had urgent business there to....save society from the leisure suit.'
[insert ad for a leisure suit]
'After destroying all leisure suits, they flew to...'
very bad examples i know, but i'm tired, i got too much heat working in my yard and i think my brain is fried and short circuiting....but i hope that gives an idea of what we're trying to do......
ideas/suggestions are always welcome!!! i'll post tomorrow AM to get the ball rolling! i should be home all day tomorrow to man (i guess woman?) the mod queue if your posts are moderated.....
and yes, our june contest starts friday! i'll post rules, etc tomorrow! theme is jewelry!
