US Royal would become Uniroyal in later years. Tigers and cars had already been very frequently done by 1964 (Esso, etc.), but this specific design sends me. Click for a larger version in a new window:

I don't remember US Royal, but I do remember their ads, along with Esso's "Put A Tiger in Your Tank", on TV. I always got Esso confused with Kellogg's, thinking Tony did ads for both companies.

Do you remember the exxon campaign where they gave you a stuffed tiger tail to hang off your gas cap? Then when you closed the tank door, it looked like a "tiger in your tank".
