I don't actually like polka dots, but I really like floor to ceiling windows and lots of light. So I'm going with that one, but maybe with a re-upholstering in something solid. It looks more comfortable to spend time in.

If we could change the pink kitchen to that dreadful muted sea green that was also popular back then, I would want that one.

For me it is #2 all the way. I like to look out the window when in the kitchen, there's heaps more storage space and much more counter space for prep. But both colour schemes are yuck.

I like the windows in #1 but not crazy about the polka dots or ruffles so I'd probably prefer #2; don't really care for either of them. Lol, the floors are nice.

Neither one does much for me. I hate the pink in #1, but it seems really roomy. I hate the pink, so hat would go. #2 seems a little more cramped and I am not thrilled with the open shelves. I do like the seating and the breakfast bar in #2. The colors for #2 are better than #1. If I could only have one of them I'd go #2.

I like the polka dot chairs, but that's as much as I could take. What I really like is the glass brick wall! The second kitchen is sophisticated, but a bit dark. Of course the polka-dot chairs wouldn't belong in it.

Hmmm...tough one. I don't like either that well. I'm going to go with #2 because...island! Also because...notpink!

Not into either one, but if I had to stay there for a week as a rental, I'd take #2.

#2. something about the organization/layout of #1 is bothering me (although I love the cube windows).

I prefer #2.

#1 - don't like the polkadots and the desk in the middle of the kitchen is just strange. The floor to ceiling windows are nice, but they're those blurry blocks you can't really see out of...

I like the brighter look of the first kitchen but the layout of the second one better, so maybe I would switch color schemes, LOL!

I love polkadots and pink and glass brick but the roses and the ruffles make that kitchen look too 50's sitcom happy homemaker, while the stripey kitchen looks still more modern, stylish and Deco while being functional.

The first one would work in a really small space where you'd have to do your bill-paying and sewing in the same space as your kitchen.

#1. And with the exception of changing the desk from dots to solid color, I wouldn't change it.

There's no counter space in 1. I don't know how anyone cooks without counter space. I have an 8-ft. island in my kitchen and I don't know how I ever got a meal together without it. It's a workhorse.

Aaaugh, no, not the pink and the frills! Definitely #2, nice deco lines, but it would need a paint job in lighter - and fewer - colours. Plus a new floor.

The second one all the way! Going beyond the fact the pink and polka dots of the first one make me want to gouge my eyes out, I appreciate at the time it was probably seen as the most awesome peice of styling ever. However there is next to no free counter space. All the storage is in one place meaning for more than one person to work in the kitchen at once would be near impossible. Unless of course the second person is typing... in... the... kitchen?!? Yeaaaaah!

The second one is awesome though. Loads of counter space. Separate areas for different tasks so you could do sweet prep/baking in a different area. The floor is nice, those roller door corner units are pretty shnazzy. The only down side is that weird tartenesque wallpaper and roof styling going on. Oh and of course the cooker is kind of random. Swap that out for a decent 6 burner range and I'm there baby!

I like the counter space and island in #2, and the windows are nice if it's in a cabin or something, but I keep thinking I'd need to duck? I like that window-wall of glass blocks in #1--kill the pink and ruffles, and Bob's nearly your uncle--but, er, if there are sparks on the possibly gas range, won't the desk catch fire? Also, why is the sewing table across the kitchen from the sewing machine? Besides that and the lack of counter space, I actually like the polka dots?^^ The plaid's not bad, either, but is it painted on or is that a long piece of fabric?
