Two very different kitchens.
I think the colours make all the difference.

Lets hear which you one you like, or how you would change them up.

I love the clean lines and less clutter of #2 -- and the colour is nice as well - blue has never been a good colour for me for a room.....

definitely #1....#2 looks too 'sterile' and almost like an institutional kitchen to me...also, i'm not a fan of no windows above sinks---weird quirk i know....

That's funny because I was just about to comment that the cabinets in #1 look just like a doctor's examining room. The floor would be blue tile, not red, though it would be easier to hide the blood! D:

I like the windows and little breakfast bar in #1; I prefer the colors in #2. I'm not really wild about either of them though. While #1 is more homey, the stark white of the cabinets just isn't doing it for me. On the other hand, #2, as [livejournal.com profile] misstiajournal points out, does look a lot like an institutional kitchen. So yeah, don't like either one really.

I love blue, but prefer the second. It manages to be bright and soothing to my eyes. If the first one had much bigger windows I'd probably prefer it.

I actually like #2 better - #1 is too "country kitchen" and cute, for my tastes... and I dislike that shade of blue.

I'd change the backsplash of #1 and maybe add some plates / bowl on top of the cabinets in fun colours. A rug near the sink would help too, as well as some non-white dishes.

I look at #2, with all those cabinets and drawers, and I realize that I would never be able to find anything. LOL

I definetly prefer the second, with the island and well laid out features. However why anyone would need so many cupboards I have no idea!

both of them are gorgeous kitchens. but blue is easier on my eyes than yellow so i'll take #1, and have a portable dishwasher to sit at the end of the peninsula, taking out the little shelf there.

cause little shelves like that aren't a necessity for me, and dishwashers are. :D

yellow kitchens...mama always wanted one. so the last house i lived in with them before i got married, she got her wish and painted it BRIGHT yellow. but it had brick red applicances, countertops, and floor. and it faced EAST, so first thing in the morning, it was BLINDING in there. gah!

I like both; I prefer #1, because it seems more "homey."

#2 definitely. That yellow color is just the right shade, the storage and counter space is incredible, and I love the table/rack/whatever to the left of the oven. Gas stove, big fridge microwave and I'm good to go.

Exactly! #2 has FAR more counter surface and cabinetry. Much more functional. In fact #1 has almost NO counter surface due to that silly top loading dishwasher. #1 may look nicer but is not very practical.

My parents have an oven like in #2 and it's the worst. It's broken now and they can't even find a replacement. Back when it worked, I always felt I was going to burn myself when I used it - I'd rather bend down than pull out a scorching hot pan right at face-level.

I like kitchen #2 the best. It has more cabinet/drawer space and a nice island. I'd change the colors, though. I'm not crazy about yellow as a room color, especially when combined with red

#2: less busy and frilly.

I like the second kitchen, but I would add a double oven.
