The first ad is adorable. It doesn't even mention that the Bissell won't freak out the cat like the vacuum probably would or that it will save on having to replace vacuum bags as often. The next time I buy a Bissell sweeper, I want one with that kind of handle. The ones we had before, the handles keep breaking off at the base of the ones where the handle is just stuck in the middle because all the stress is focused on one place.
I agree that the second one should be creepy, but isn't. What a weird way to sell molybdenum, though. Not that I can think of a better way to sell molybdenum. Climax Molybdenum--I'll bet the employees got tired of the jokes.
I love the cheerful kitty in the first ad! And the "pleasantly plump" woman! It reminds me of some book illustrations - maybe Mary Poppins or Mrs. Piggle Wiggle?
