I like that they called them "FOOD Marshmallows." I suppose it's to distinguish them from real marshmallow, which is mostly used for herbal remedies and more people probably knew about it then.

I actually made "food" marshmallows the other day for the first time using honey and concentrated fruit juice for sweetener. They taste okay, but have kind of a weird spongy texture. My hubby called it "marshmallow tofu"! :D

Making marshmallows that have that dusted "skin" (like you get in the shop) is almost impossible to do at home.
