70s craft magazine ads
Nov. 22nd, 2012 12:22 amI've got some readers' offer ads here scanned from a 70s craft magazine called Golden Hands Monthly. They're all from 1972-4. If you want to see the rest of the pages I scanned, they're here.

Electric scissors sound quite alarming.

I have this dress dummy, it's ubiquitous in the UK on ebay. It's rubbish, the sliders for adjusting it are really flimsy. Mine is also only in cm, and dressmaking is still done in inches here.

Mmm, terylene bedsheets. The same stuff they make plastic bottles out of.

I tried googling "glas-craft" and only got an industrial glass company, so I don't know exactly what it was. I imagine it was something similar to this stuff. I like the lettering on the labels though. It was probably some kind of toxic gloop.
