I scanned all these ads from this book (and you can read the whole comic here if you like):

Voices of Hanna-Barbera:

It's cool that they're trying to educate people about the animation process. But it would have been nice if there had been a shout out to the actual actors (like Daws Butler and June Foray).

The Marvel Bulletin

Silly Hostess Fruit pie ad!

.....I have no idea WTF was going on in that comic!

SEA MONKIES!!!!

I REALLY want to track down the "Wilma Flintstone reads Bambi" and "Huckleberry Hound reads Uncle Remus" albums!!!
Seriously, I want to hear Wilma narriating the moment Bambi's mother (and his innocence) died and I want to hear Huckleberry's voice read the Happy Slave story that Disney is still trying to pretend doesn't exist. I think it would be hilarious!!!
....does that make me a bad person? ^_^;

I have no idea who Steve and Jamie are. Can anyone who was alive in the 70s help me out?

JINKIES! Was Stan Lee really that handsome back in the day? It's hard to see him as anything else besides the goofy old dude he is today. XD

There sure are a lot of shirtless men in this book...

haha, I remember the sea monkey ad. LOL forever at "watching them ride each other's backs like cowboys on their ponies".

Steve = Steve Austin, "The 6 Million Dollar Man", Jamie may be referring to Jamie Lee Curtis from Halloween. Though it may be a little early for that.

Thor needs a new agent.

Well duh, I am pretty sure they're referring to Jaime Sommers, the Bionic Woman there.

I guess they figured readers were too stupid to figure out who they were talking about if they said Lee and Lindsay. Also, Group B refers to Hardy Boys, Grizzly Adams, and Baretta instead of Shaun, Parker, Dan, and Robert (yes, I watched A LOT of TV in the '70s!)

'vibrating shocker' and 'cousin-power' that only goofs when their 'hands wander' fully ensured my mind would remain in the gutter for this entire post, yeesh

You might be in luck: here's a link to "Wilma Flintstone Reads Bambi": http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wilma-Flintstone-Tells-Story-Bambi-lp-album-1965-/260928700113. The only copy of the Huckleberry Hound record was from England... so sad.

You can find MP3 versions of both of those (for slightly less than the eBay price :P ) at boutje777's Children's Records Blog :)

With the Hostess fruit pie ad... WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN! We have Thor battling a hillbilly family called the "ding-a-ling's" When I first saw this, I laughed so hard. What would be funnier if this was briefly mentioned in the comics or even the movies. The rest of the ads are strange, but the Hostess one takes the cake (or in this case the fruit pies.)
