This game brings back memories.

Game History: On this day in 1980, Namco released the highly influential, classic arcade game Pac-Man! The game was awarded by Guinness World records as the most successful coin operated game.

This release on Atari was the beginning of the end. The console game was so inferior to the arcade game that a lot of people felt ripped off, and gave up on Atari.

I can't believe my kids (ages 10 and 12) still like this game. The version that came with our XBox was much spiffier, but my 12-year-old likes the vintage version they have at the rec room at the Y. Heck, he has designed and built more sophisticated games than this but he appreciates the classics. I'll bet he gets it from his mama! ;)
