Date: 2012-03-02 06:51 pm (UTC)I have a few old vegetarian cookbooks with recipes for making stuff like this with agar, which makes a substance similar to gelatin. Newer cookbooks don't mention anything like it, though. I think aspics etc. just lost popularity, and now they look gross to us.
