misstiaOkay couple things....one, last night it came up that our hyperlinks no longer have a line under them with our new layout...I searched around today in our settings and nope, no option....i looked in my journal settings and i have (and y'all probably do too) under 'additional options' 'show link underline'....since we have a custom design, i sent a request off to the design team asking if they could please do that for us....in the interim, if you wish, you CAN use underline code before/after your link to get the line...if you know html, then you know what to do.....if you use visual editor, add the link to your entry as usual, then switch over to html (it won't bite!!!) and you will see your link (you'll also see your apostrophes have turned into symbols--don't edit that, just find your link please) and you'll see your link like this: replace [ with < --if i use the right brackets uh, then i can't show you the code!
[a href=http:www.somewebsiteidunnowhere.com]the name you gave your link[/a]
add the following before/after the link, it's easy! remember, use < instead of the [ I'll put it in red so you see it's just 2 places
[a href=http:www.yourlinkdomain.com]whatever you called it[/a]
now go back to visual editor before you post the entry (you'll see the symbols for apostrophes are gone now and the apostrophes are back)...
this can be our temporary work around for underlined links.....
second thing....tags!! i asked for feedback and based on that, we have 2 new tags: creepy in retrospect AND tragic in retrospect....
yes, something could be both...tragic is more for when loss of life occurred though, such as in the titanic, twin towers, ford pintos, lusitania, ddt, etc ads.....
third...there recently has been a minor issue of vigilante tag policing that was a disservice to the spirit of our community....a few members were made to feel unwelcome and/or fearful of even tagging a post in case they incurred the wrath of the self appointed tag police department....PLEASE notify me immediately if you ever feel unwelcome or uncomfortable here....i tried at first to politely deal with this, to try discuss it with them (i thought perhaps they were misguided and maybe they felt they were doing good for us), they totally ignored me and continued on their merry ways....i tried to contact them again....no reply....well there's the door....i don't like to ban people, but alas sometimes it's necessary.....
i know 99.99% of our community members are friendly, helpful, and make this community what it is.....and thank you all for being a part of vintage ads!!!
