I will not be adding the word "Contest" to all of my vacation ad postings; I have so many that I will only post "Contest" with ones I wish to enter in the contest. Most of my vacation ads are railway ads, so all aboard and enjoy the trip!

Haven't you read about it? Then pick up a book, already.

I've had the pleasure of travelling on "The Canadian" 5 different times so far. Same 1950s Budd stainless steel streamlined equipment, upgraded to modern standards. Toronto to Vancouver in 4 nights and 3 days.

The Lackawana's mascot was the elegant "Phoebe Snow" of whom many advertising poems were written. The Lackawana used anthracite coal in its steam locomotives which didn't produce the amounts of soot that other coal did. Phoebe always spoke in the ads about her clothing staying fresh and white and not getting covered in soot when traveling on this railway.

Milwaukee's "Super Domes" were eventually sold to Canadian National Railway in the early 1960s and were used on trains between Edmonton and Vancouver. They survived into the Via Rail era.

I can't say I've been anywhere in Scotland where it seldom rained.
