today is for americana ads---yes of course regular ads are fine too! :)

couple queries, your feedback is always appreciated and valued!

1. what do y'all feel about a weekend or perhaps 3-4 days (long weekend?) event where we post ads for products that are for sale and then post what we find out about the current address, phone #, if the product is still available, etc???

2. what do y'all feel about having a day where we allow (for one day ONLY and it would have to be put on every post) spoof ads?? these could be ads that are found and/or ads that some of our very talented members could make? i know very rarely a spoof ad will be allowed to get posted....we have discussed and decided against a spoof ad tag (so as not to encourage their posting) but one day only??? ETA: someone just brilliantly suggested 'ads in disguise' for halloween...if members think this is a good idea, that's what we'll do, have it on october 31st and call it 'ads in disguise' :)

both 1 & 2 would take place some time in september as our event calendar is very full! :)

After heeding all of this advice, our trusty duo picked up a few giant bottle-shaped traps at a Siberian trading post, and argued over what they should use as bait. Oates won the argument, and they loaded their shopping cart with soap, because everyone knows how the scent of fresh suds gets babies running. Laden with bars of soap Hall and Oates trekked into the wilds of Siberia, where suddenly they came upon... a Sybarite!

First of all, WOW- a huge archive of Saturday Evening Post ads, full size!

A sample - note the word "ad" is "in quotes" for some reason, perhaps its novelty.
