This is technically one year too recent to qualify as "Vintage," but maybe we can use a little time travel to bring it back in under the wire?

I think this counts as time travel -- just a very short round trip. And the special repetition of the alarm clock going off makes it extra applicable to our wake-up troubles this week.

Found this one last night while reading GH of my great-grandmothers' era, like you do. Page 736 of this volume.

THURSDAY!! March 15th!! THE IDES OF LJ DAY HERE!!!! Ads that deal with betrayal, stabbing in the back, etc....let's have subversive fun!!!!

DW is still invite free and we are manning the life boats to Vintage Ads on Dreamwidth where they treat their users with respect.....

What should April's theme be? Did i say? (yes my mind is still muddled and occupied with lists and things to do for Eddie, we should have a better idea hopefully tomorrow of when he can move into another place which will help him IMMENSELY....)....i don't think i declared a theme....

so what should it be????

Ads with flowers (too narrow? how about a spring theme as it'll be spring in half the world)
Bathroom Ads
Ads for jewelry

and please add other suggestions....i can always add them to the 'hat'!!!!

Okay, I'm a bit late to the party here, but the time change has really thrown me off. Also, I have a nasty cold, which I blame on the time change.

Otis Elevators, 1952  in glorious, dizzying, starfield (!) cutaway.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this ad.  I also like that elevatoring is a verb, and that 'autotronic' even existed. ;D

Come on over to see a second, even more dizzying Otis ad!

Konsum (Sweden), shoes, 1953.
