When You Aim To Please...

Aside from the obvious, that fox hunting china is amazing.

I'm the one who'd take an entire arrow and eat all the donuts on it like a shishkebab.

You're not the only one. Dibs on one of the powdered arrows.

What a great idea. I'll take one of the plain-filled, please.

how can they pull a donut off the arrow?? or do those feathery (don't know official name for 'em) pull off easily??

Fletchings

I took archery in high school, when they finally let us take gym electives. The feathers on the arrows are called "fletchings."

So you have to take the bottom donut, not the top.

thank you! so basically they go to pull a bottom donut off and they're all going to go sliding out and oh what a mess!!! people would be standing around hoping homer simpson would crawl around like a snake eating all the donuts off the floor!

No need to wait for Homer. All of us who replied to the first comment would volunteer.

These arrows with donuts on them look like banderillas. Wonder if they did a version with actual banderillas stuck into a bull.

Did we just get a view into Oliver Jonas' den during a JLA after crime busting party?

I think so -- at least it seems to be something the blogging Green Arrow (http://thegreenarrow.blogspot.com/) would do. (The stereo is blaring Dokken.)

when you REALLY aim to please, make the donuts flaming!

let's see: 70 calories per mini donut (give or take), x 13 donuts per arrow = 970 calories per arrow of donuts. Almost a thousand calories. How many of those calories come from fat? 50 per donut, or in other words: 650 calories from fat alone.

Those are some chubby arrows, jus' sayin.

I'm gluten intolerant, so I just get black coffee...effing hell.

That is a LOT of donuts.

Either it's a REALLY big party, or they've been lying about serving sizes back then.

Well that is all there is to eat as you can see....So grab an arrow and go get the coffee.

I can really appreciate when my donuts' color scheme adds to the gayness of my affair.

Be sure to stick the arrows *really deep* so your guest can't have any without risking a crubly mess in the plates!

Exactly WHY aren't these fabulous donuts available on the Pacific Coast?

For the same reason a lot of items -- right up through the 1950s and into the '60s -- were price-marked "Slightly higher west of the Rocky Mountains". Before the Interstate Highway System, the Rockies presented a serious challenge to getting products into the far west. (Why the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company couldn't be bothered to engage a bakery in California escapes me.)

This ad reminds me of the time I went to an anime convention, and a guy who was cosplaying as L from "Death Note" was walking around with several fake mini donuts on a skewer, and pretending to eat them when someone took a picture of him (the character is addicted to sweet things.) L would totally love this party.
