Listen, during the Depression, those white paper bags of little nickle hamburgers kept many a man's children from going to bed hungry.

Chances are, the burgers from that time period are still edible. :P

If by edible you mean "Worse than the McGarbage"...

looks as though we may have to depend on them again...

They are really a decadent naughty treat, those little burgers. And to think they sustain folks from starvation, well, more power to 'em.

White Castle once had an ad campaign where they promoted Sliders as health food. They had the University of MN have some guy eat nothing but Sliders for a month and then published the data showing that the dude was healthier then when he started. It's covered in a book call Sellin' em by the Sack, and it looks like you can still buy it on Amazon.

"White Castle was founded in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas"

Take a peekaloo here for more than you ever wanted to know:

I wonder what's meant by putting "night off" and "sack" in quotations like that. My mind immediately goes to the gutter.

Obviously Mother's "night off" means she'll have time in the "sack" with Father...

She looks thrilled, yo.

To think, bringing home food instead of cooking dinner was once a novel idea.

First one is good. Second, eh. Third, starting to taste funny.

Forth... Excuse me, I'll be in the bathroom.

I AGREE COMPLETELY! I always really enjoy the first one, and then they edge into mediocrity until I never want to eat one again. Until six months later, when I've worked up another craving...
