1969 Purina ad
Feb 9 1969 Purina ad from Parade magazine newspaper insert. Even the dog food was groovy back then.

Those Mattel Jewelry Kiddies in the center of the bottom row look like a tiny version of Mattel's current big hit small wearable doll, Peekaboo Petites. I guess if an idea's a moneymaker, you don't forget it.

Wow! I've not seen that design on the dog food bag since I was a kid. We've always fed our pets, dogs and cats, nothing but good old fashioned, no frills, trustworthy Purina. Great ad!

The jewelry dolls were part of the Little Kiddles (http://www.fashion-doll-guide.com/Vintage-Little-Kiddles.html) series. I had several of them regular dolls when I was a kid. They were about three inches high, with disproportionately large heads. I thnk they were partly a Mattel response to troll dolls, which were about the same size. Maybe a cross between trolls and Barbies!

I <3 the hippy-dippy "Things you Love" graphic. Even dog food got into the spirit of the Age of Aquarius!

Whoa, awesome! I really actually like the coin purse and the dolls. :3 Those little things are way cooler than the toys nowadays.
