I think "Why is their laundry the focal point of their sitting room?" is a better question.

Mom? Dad? Can we come in now? We've been huddling by the dryer vent for warmth for hours now. Please?

Throw some more sneakers in the dryer, dear. I can still hear the kids whining to get back in.

"The Dave Brubecks"?

Why are the kids looking in from the outside?

Why are the machines located in the living room??

So many questions, so little sense.

It also seems to be the kitchen, what with that table and the stove...

Why is the fireplace set at waist height?

I have to wonder if the bed is located to the left, just out of the picture.

On the other hand, maybe he's just got one really tricked out laundry room.

let's spend a nice quiet evening in front of the fire and dryer honey! wtf?? maybe that's why they say in the ad it's a "japanese-style house"?? maybe japanese style entails having appliances by a fireplace?

For a moment there, I honestly thought they had a tiny pet horse.

Oh Dog, $h|t brown color appliances from the 1970's lovely!

And I was curious about the name, so, he was young there in the picture.

Totally OT, even though I am a Brubeck fan and was thinking, "WTFBBQPolarBear?!?!" -- icon love for your squirrel.

Did the Dave Brubecks snicker when, after four takes filming this commercial, someone called out "Take Five"?

I got to see Mr. Brubeck live a year or so ago, in Northampton. Freaking wonderful. They answered my silent request to play "Over the Rainbow." I wasn't far from the stage. It occurred to me later that during the moment of silence after the last note died out, I should have quietly said, "Thank you."
