Oct 1943 Better Homes and Gardens ad for One-A-Day vitamins. Click through for the text beneath the cartoons, if you're interested. Looks like in 1943, large dose daily vitamins were fairly new. Selling points: instead of taking many vitamins to get your daily requirement, you only have to take - wait for it - one a day. Apparently the A&D supplement is equal to 1 1/2 teaspoons of cod liver oil, so that's a plus. Also, it's produced by the makers of Alka Seltzer. Buy yours today!

The art is great. Someone needed to take a good dose of Vitamin P, though, to give the poetry more life and less awkwardness. Other rhymed copy from the period has a similar forced feeling sometimes.

Seeing this ad while suffering from sinus pressure doesn't do much good. Ha.
