ahhh...you underestimate people! yes, there were many who would have used this for their gums, but people in the 40s and 50s (just guessing the date and giving myself a lot of room there) were more raunchy than many think. I bet quite a few people found another use for it.

Why one EARTH would anyone want a vibrator shaped like a FINGER for their gums? The mere thought of someone else sticking their fingers in my mouth makes me shudder.
