More from the UK, this time a dealer advert from 1967 for the then-new Volvo 140, a car which lived on until 1993 in the form of the 240:



It's interesting to see that Volvo offered free insurance for a year way back then, which I think probably swayed quite a few buyers who would have otherwise bought a British make :)

Hi. Had a number of the early 140s in all door counts. My favourite was the 145. I was running my 1970 in the early 1990s as a daily driver that wasn't afraid of distance travel. At present am keeping about 7 245 models on the road (2 in service at all times and the others at the ready). There was an eighth but it's "time" came last winter on a rather simple failure. A chucked wheel bearing combined with incurable road-rash made it a running parts car. Ya gotta draw the line somewhere.
