Nice to see one of the old CCA ads. I remember hearing a lot about the Container Corporation in Graphic Design History class last year. Their chairman, Walter Paepcke, said "good design is good business", and was one of the first American businessmen to really embrace graphic design. He would become an enthusiastic patron of design and the arts. For example, Paepcke and the CCA sponsored a project called "Great Ideas", a series of pieces created by designers illustrated an influential idea in Western culture. I had been thinking about this book I'm reading, The Box (http://www.amazon.com/Box-Shipping-Container-Smaller-Economy/dp/0691123241/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214136673&sr=8-1). It's about the huge effect the shipping container has had on world civilization and how that happened. I had clean thoughts, a rare moment in my life.
