Yeah, cause we know that the pioneers just opened a can and found perfectly shaped logs that fit together exactly, as well as green planks and a yellow chimney.
Don't forget how the pioneers frequently became frustrated when the green planks slid off the roof for the umpteenth time and finally just knocked down their cabin altogether. This allowed them to rest a plank atop one of the logs and use it to catapult the small log pieces across the prairie at their little sisters.
Green planks, red chimney, green end-pieces. But the plastic figures came with green, red or yellow indians and cowboys with an ever-expanding network of brown plastic fencing and black horses with holes in their sides to match the rider's pegs on their knees. A wet sandbox was the only way to keep these things upright on their tilty bottoms and the Lincoln Logs were soon ditched in favor of the figurines.
Blasted slats always fell off of the roof of the house at a touch anyway.
