Mod Note: Two things: 1. I still haven't tallied contest finalists, obviously, have been doing overdue yard work and found kittens that I'm keeping. WILL be doing that within next few days cuz.... 2. In a lot of the country it's going to be, bluntly, hot as fuck. If it's going to be like that where you reside PLEASE stay hydrated, stay out of the sun if you can (I know certain jobs don't allow it, so they best be providing Gatorade or something similar), and keep cool (in both ways ;). If you don't have an AC, get a bag of ice, or a couple trays of ice cubes, put them in a big bowl (ensure it'll be able to hold the melted ice) and put it in front of a fan. Putting a cool wet cloth around the back of your neck also can help. If you start to feel light headed, cannot sweat, nauseous, vomiting, do NOT think it'll get better and go to the ER!!! I get heat sick in weather like this, I know of what I speak. Some IV fluids and anti-nausea medications does wonders. You still can get heat sick when doing everything right, some people are just prone to it. LEST I FORGET be mindful of your furbabies outside. Have plenty of water, hose them off to cool them down (this is for dogs), give doggy ice cream, and best is to keep them inside. Even if you don't have furbabies, placing a dish of water outside for other critters would be appreciated by them. /motherly mod lecture! :D
