2. shes in her night clothes and clearly wearing a girdle and stockings( maybe that is where the yarn is). I guess those could be her under garments and the not quite dressed robe...

It's hard to see cause of the reduced size but that short dress-like thing under her robe, that is knitted.

wow that is neat, the way it drapes and all... that is some fine knitting.

Though does make it even more perplexing that she has the girdle and stockings on then. That is not going out sized, and who wears knit slips? ... ( I am kidding of course. I just love that in old movies, ads , etc. they wear girdles and stockings to *lounge* in )

The other "yeesh" factor is that this was probably made of wool. Synthetics were not that common yet. She probably had the girdle on so she didn't itch to death.
