yeah, it says "pack stuffing on top" but there is no stuffing recipe! it looks like cheez whiz to me...with mushrooms in it....

the stuffing is the bread crumb mixture, I believe. The crumbs would rehydrate during cooking and make it white and creamy looking.

This reminds me of the mushroom burgers I make - you cook the hamburgers and then make mushroom gravy with the drippings. Yummy! In fact, I think I'll make them tonight.

ETA: the filling in this meatloaf (I keep typing meatload and having to correct it) looks like cream of mushroom soup to me. But that's not in the recipe. The bread crumb theory is probably correct - 4 cups is a lot of bread crumbs.
