There's a little too much specialness going on in this one. Reading that from a modern perspective it seems super creepy.

I'm having horrible thoughts about poor Molly getting murdered on the way home form the 7-11, her special 7-11 envelope torn open and lying empty at her side. :(

This just makes me sad - that we don't live in a world like that anymore. :(

I used to have to do that! Wasn't a 7-11, but the little convenience store a couple blocks away. :-) And it was fun, because I could get my beloved candy cigarettes.

sometimes when i find them they are labeled as 'candy sticks'....but there's still some makers who make them as 'candy cigarettes' with the red tipped end....

So what they're saying is:

if you don't trust your child to bring all the change home and not spend it on candy, send her to 7 Eleven and we'll seal it in an envelope so you know she's been truthful.

Great.

Considering the massive gold ring he has on his finger, that man owns that 7-11 store.

"Thank you - Come again!"

You've gotta remember, back in 1966 it was difficult to find a store that was open past 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Having a store actually stay open until 11:00 PM meant you could get important staples for your family, like milk, eggs, toilet paper... (Oh, all right... beer, cigarettes, and Thunderbird!)
