Fix tuna Molly's enticing new way...and you end up with a wonderful dinner-in-one-dish

Who says Lenten eating must be dull? Don't you believe it! You just serve'em Olive'n Tuna Super Supper!
it's a dinner-in-one-dish, and it's got everything. Meaty flavor, without a sliver of meat. Spicy cheese sauce. Green vegetable. And the special, mellow goodness that ripe olives add.
Try it soon and you'll discover why it's Fibber McGee's Lenten favorite.

Because during Lent, Catholics aren't allowed to eat red meat. The subtext of this ad, I think, is that MEN will be miserable without MEAT so their wives must be extra canny to satiate their appetites without incurring the wrath of the Lord.
Also, you should eat what these fictional radio comedy characters eat.

Blech. Personally, I dont like olives in most foods anyways (pizza is the exception), so this sound particularly disgusting to me.

Tuna and olives is a pretty classic combination, notably salade niçoise. I just think the sauce sounds heinous, but at least it doesn't have pimentos in it. Those have ruined a lot of casseroles in my family.

I love the 1950's conceit that calling a food item whatever "'n" whatever automatically made it appealing. This dish could have been called "Barf 'n Spew".

The sad part is, some companies still think it works.

More lure in Lenten eating? Doesn't that entirely sidestep the whole idea of Lent?

"Who says Lenten eating must be dull?"
... your church? The same people who told you to celebrate Lent in the first place?

I really don't think one would go to hell if they have a chicken wing.

I hope 'Molly' and her husband make the same faces when screwing.

The recipie would be OK with a better cheese. Pity I can't stand the smell of hot canned tuna.
