my first experience of posting something here.


it is a french magazine a occasionally came up to in some weird bookshop in lyon.
i bought two issues published in 1972.
VERY weird ads they've got there!

Pic 5 = I can't really understand the meaning, but babelfish says "Sad men to abstain from." I don't think that's right.

I get it. These are joke ads, like a French version of the old MAD Magazine ad parodies, but ruder. They remind me of the fake Heineken ad with the Hurricane Katrina looter that was circulating around the internet a few years ago.

I wish people could still get away with making fun of advertising this way. That was my very favorite part of MAD - back in the day before they accepted real advertising dollars. I'm afraid that this publication would make a lot of libel attorneys very rich these days.
