These weren't Apple knockoffs by any means; they were intended to compete with IBM and ran MS-DOS or CP/M. They had some great ideas--that stick to the right of the machine in the photo is an IR mouse/trackball, for instance. They weren't hardware-compatible with the IBM PC in the beginning, though they later would be, and were rather popular in the UK. Eventually, as I recall, they were bought out by Mitsubishi and ceased to operate independently.
I'm just dying laughing at the "incredible" 1mb of memory and 20mb hard drive. God, and I remember when that was super speed, NASA type computers, too. I gots teh_oldz.
reminds me of when I had dial up. I had32kbs of super sonic speed!! and if i left my computer on for 3 days I could download 10 songs at a time off of Napster...
