The M.E. Church, South split from the main Methodist Episcopal denomination in 1844 over the issue of slavery (guess which side they came down on?). It isn't surprising to see such a narrow world view in their ads from the post WWI era. The only thing surprising is that the ad wasn't co-sponsored by the Klan.
