National League for Opposing Woman Suffrage, 1900
A man arrives home 'after a hard day's work' to find his children alone and sobbing. Pinned to a 'Votes for Women' poster is a note saying 'Back in an hour or so', written by the mother of the household who has gone off to a suffragette meeting. The implication is that campaigning for the vote meant that women neglected their families.

Date: 2008-02-28 11:51 pm (UTC)Women have been running for US Pres for a while now! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_United_States_presidential_and_vice-presidential_candidates) Even before women got the vote, in fact! All I gotta say is that Victoria Woodhull musta had moxie right up to her eyeballs.
