Still having scanning fun with the May 1973 Women's Day...

Officer officer, you're panties are floral! too bad this ad wasn't in color...

nice tag line though..."underneath it all you're really a beautiful person"....that would do wonders for your self-esteem...

I love this commercial, because it is so, so true.

Also, lady kind of looks like a dude, but FANCY PANTIES are clearly the answer.

I actually thought it was a guy and was totally not surprised that the 70s would put a [rather under-endowed] man in floral underwear.

"Underneath it all... but at first glance? YEEEECHHHHHH! But don't worry. Here are some pretty panties for you."

In fairness, she does have to wear a cop uniform. On the outside, she really shouldn't look that different from the other cops - that's part of the purpose of a uniform.

Unless she's a meter maid, this is pretty forward-thinking for 1973.

I always crave this colourfully patterned crap from 1970s ads because I'm a retro junkie, and finally, FINALLY, the day is here and I can say "I have some JUST like that!!!" I'm so happy :D

"License plates, even"

Copywriting by Snagglepuss. Dude could transmit the product magic -- even in spontaneous noncontract pitches --
e.g. "Some nice chop suey, for me and you-ey, and some yung egg fooey, tooey!"

Lovely Rita, meter maid, nothing can come between us...except perhaps those panties.
