Aww, they were embarrassed by their noise. Was this so early that some were used to the privacy of outhouses? It looks kind of '20s.

Man, that little stick holding up the drain board looks like total fail and shattered dishes.

The earliest flush toilets looked remarkably like posh outhouses. I saw one at Raby Castle in England that must have been among the first. A seat on a big bench -- like in an outhouse -- and the tank looked like it had no connection to it. I tried to take a [forbidden] photo, but it didn't come out, if you'll pardon the expression. Wages of sin, I guess.
