Finally a picture of the sausage/"cheese"/bacon-triumvirate that is recognisable as food. Though I still refuse to believe people made this, and ate it as well. (And don't say "still do" now, or I will explode).
I shouldn't even look at LJ when I'm hungry. I think I'll go have a bowl of Cheerios.
A couple of weeks ago, my daughter dragged me to a sample table at the grocery store. The sign was for bacon-wrapped scallops. Nobody was there. No food was out, or being cooked. I could so have gone for one of those.
In the 70s, in the Northeastern US anyway, these were referred to as "Texas Tommies." I remember Mom would sometimes order a Texas Tommy as a guilty pleasure if we went out to lunch when Dad was at work (I guess women were supposed to eat more dainty things when men were around?) :)
