Hear, hear. It's been one of my faves since I first saw it on AMC ages ago, and I'd first heard of it when I was maybe eight and not allowed to watch anything in the horror section at my local video store. I made a stunning five-dollar find of the DVD a few years ago--in a bin at Wal-Mart, of all places. I think I found The Legend of Hell House on the same evening. That was a dang good movie night.
Better than most people remember it to be - not as bad as you think it would be for a modernization of Phantom of the Opera, and certainly more entertaining than the recent film version of that.
I've seen it. lol Since I'm obsessed with anything Phantom of the Opera, I, of course, had to see this version. :) Not the greatest movie on earth, but it was better than I thought it would be.
Oh hells yeah. I saw it for the first time about a year and a half ago on a double bill with the Muppet Movie and get this! Motherflippin' Paul Williams himself was in attendance to introduce both films.
Phantom blew my SOCKS OFF. I had no idea what to expect and I thought it was MAGNIFICENT and I'm not even being sarcastic. I loved it.
Not that I'd expect everyone to feel the same way but yeah, I dig that film quite a bit.
One of my favorite films. For all the problems it has, there is nothing as sensual as Jessica Harper, and nothing as truly creepy evil as Paul Williams.
