Some of these aren't particularly hideous (some look a mite tasty, actually), but vegetable-flavored Jell-O? Gross!

I agree; some of this stuff is quite tasty, but the vegetable-flavored ones sound awful - especially with stuff like cabbage, beets, olives, pearl onions, pickles and radishes in it. *shudders*

I have that cookbook, with the vegetable flavored jello. It is in fact hideous.

But it was fun calling the Jell-O help line to ask what flavor I should substitute for Celery to make their recipe work.

It's true, celery Jello is a thing of the past - I think?? Gran used to shred carrots and put in olives and such things into it for a, a, a, ... side dish? that was just plain weird. We kids used to scrape off the jello to eat and leave the yuck like olives, cabbage, and such. I like Cel-Ray soda, which also sounds odd, because it is flavorful yet not sweet.

I like how that vegetable tuna gelatin ring is hiding amongst the innocuous-looking fruity gelatins, like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
