what the hell kind of sauce is that on the broccoli? and it looks like her hat has a sprig of broccoli in it.....



speaking of vegetables....i saw something very frightening yesterday.....someone had a donald trump for president bumper sticker....first time i ever saw one....i was skerred....

Looks like it might be a hollandaise sauce. That was quite popular on such vegetables when I was a kid, but fortunately for me my mom didn't have the patience to make it.

Ooh, a Lilly Daché hat! Reminds me of Johnny Mercer's lyrics:

I doubt that Tangerine ever wore broccoli, though... unless maybe an outraged rival flung a serving onto her.

you are probably right on the sauce, but i thought that wasn't so white/bland looking....i've had hollandaise sauce before---years ago and liked it....didn't have it on veggies though.....i think over a quiche IIRC....

maybe someone didn't think the broccoli was fresh and did fling it at her? :)

The sauce is pretty pale for hollandaise, though the color of a given batch might depend on how many eggs were used in it. But it could also be one of those mayonnaise-based sauces that proliferated in those days.

Looks like a kale hat to me. Lilly Dache was an early aficionado of paleo, obviously.

It is a broccoli hat! The copy says she'll eat it if the broccol isn't the freshest tasting EVAH! :)
