I came across this photo this morning. It says it's from "Beauty" (I'm thinking the magazine), 1932. I notice this cat isn't truly black, as he has a little white bib.
BTW, I've always loved black kitties, had 2 who were special pets in years past. They NEVER brought me any bad luck!

Date: 2015-11-13 04:19 pm (UTC)I heard two stories about them from England:
1. If a black cat comes to you, it's good luck but you must keep it.
2. Most have a tiny patch of white on their chest. This is called an "angel's kiss". Back in the witch hunt days, black cats wouldn't be killed if they had this "kiss" because it meant they weren't Satanic or whatever. So most have it now. idk if this is even true, historically or genetically but mine has it. For good or bad she is a witchy cat and she is mine so good for me!
They have always been super-friendly, cuddly things!
