one way to market a car?! 1902 ford ad....still sort of an odd way to advertise a car back then wasn't it? i could see the chauffeur being featured in say 1912.....but 1902?

Hmm... yes, I could see it. Carriages were driven, too, and it would make sense that they'd want to ease the public into this relatively newfangled contraption.
