I'm guessing either late 1910s by the style of car, price (which was about right for luxury car then), and little boy's clothes, and that's it's a self filling fountain pen.

Then again, the woman's hat doesn't scream 1910s, so maybe it is 1940s. But cars weren't made during latter part of WWII, so I'm going back to late teens.

It's a late teen model, so they're referencing WWI. That's kind of what I figured by the price. If a Model A was $900 in the 1920s at that time, then a luxury car (which all were up until Ford), would be priced about that.
