I am embarrassed/intrigued to say that we had this occasionally -- canned whole chicken, and the bones were pressure cooked to almost be chewable. Sounds unlikely that this is available now, but when we were in London, Harrod's had the weirdest canned goods, like canned antelope, so perhaps canned chicken in aspic is nestled on a shelf way over there.

Oh no, canned whole chickens are still available! Stateside, even. ;) They're on the top shelf of the canned soups/meats aisle at the main grocery store I trawl through... every time I pass them, I stop and marvel. Or something along those lines, haha.
